Information & Referral |
|
The
United Fund of LaGrange County has lead the
initiative to bring 211 services to LaGrange County residents. |
| What
is 211? |
| 211
is a three-digit phone number to access comprehensive information
and referral (I&R) services in a community. For example,
a resident in need of rental, utility, child care or other human
and health services can anonymously dial 211 and be connected
to a live, professionally trained I&R specialist. The I&R
specialist will refer the caller to the appropriate local agency(ies)
that can meet his or her needs. |
| How
does it work? |
| Simply
dial 2-1-1 from any residential telephone. This service is currently
only available for cellular customers of Centennial Wireless.
Your call is connected to First Call For Help in Ft. Wayne,
Ind. Your call is free, anonymous and confidential! A trained
specialist will help identify and locate area services that
can address your specific needs. |
